“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
We had such a lovely stay here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. The hotel is right by the lake you get a great view of the mountains and the Castle at Malcesine as you are enjoying the fantastic food. It really couldn't be better. We had a lake view room with balcony it was a huge room, beautifully clean, lovely comfy bed, kettle and fridge. We planned on eating out every night as there are loads of fabulous places to eat in Malcesine but the evening meal in the hotel was so good and so sensibly priced we only ate out twice! We swam lots in the lake and the hotel has a couple of sit on kayaks which you can hire, it's fun to paddle around the shoreline and there's a peninsular and little island you can go to. The hotel swimming pool is lovely too, very clean and loads of sun beds. This family run hotel is a delight and you will love it.
“Fantastic Place To Be”
Recently returned from a 10 day half board holiday at the beach hotel Du Lac Malcesine. The room we were allocated, was spotless and had everything we required. The hotel sits in an amazing spot, a leisurely 10 minute walk from Malcesine centre. The staff are very friendly and attentive and a big shout goes to Adrian, chief bar man & Maria head waitress, their customer service skills were first class with a smile for all clients at all times. Nothing was too much bother for them, well done guys!! We ate at the hotel for 5 nights out of 10. It wasn't because the food was bad, it was because we don't eat pork, rabbit or fish so it was not an issue to advise the staff that you weren't going to eat in the hotel that evening. Breakfast had plenty of choice from omelettes, crepes, scrambled egg to fried eggs & bacon, plenty of cheese, cereals, hams, fresh fruits, with fresh bread & rolls & pastries & jams/yogurts. We've been to Italy 3 times and I can confidently say that this is one of the best breakfast spreads we have encountered. You are allocated a dining table on your arrival and we found this a positive experience, although it was the fourth row back, the view of the lake was still clearly there, the terrace is enormous so although there are tables in front of you no way is the view obscured. At breakfast time you can sit where you like, right at the front if you do want to enjoy the lake view. Bar prices were brilliant compared to our stay last year at lake Maggiore. All areas in the hotel are kept super clean and we are definitely going to return next year. We attended the hotels gala evening, brilliant meal and was great to see the owner toasting all customers for a happy holiday, and also the staff that served us so well throughout our holiday. Malcesine itself is beautiful with plenty of good eating places and bars and the whole resort is so friendly. We had a fab holiday, chilled and relaxing, thank you Du Lac for giving us what we set out on holiday to achieve. See you all again in 2016!
“First class service”
It's been a while since our last visit to the Du Lac and I am pleased to say that Debora, Renato and all of their staff, from the cleaners to the chef and waiters still provide a first class holiday experience. No request goes unheeded, the food is excellent and the staff are amongst the friendliest I have encountered on many many holidays. Changes have been made to the terrace which allows more clients to take in the stunning views of the Scaligeri Castle in Malcesine itself and also Limone, across the lake.
